Unless you’ve been living under Casterly Rock, you know that season seven of HBO® Game of Thrones premieres Sunday July 16, 2017. There's no better way to toast the return of the acclaimed series than with the official Game of Thrones Wines.

Created by renowned winemaker and series super-fan Bob Cabral and California’s Vintage Wine Estates, the limited-edition collection is available exclusively from Horizon Beverage in Massachusetts.  Rich, complex and fit for any King or Queen, the official Game of Thrones Wines easily jump from on-screen fantasy to real-world enjoyment.

Game-of-Thrones-Wines-Inner-(2).jpgWorthy of the Iron Throne, each of the three wines available exemplifies the spirit of the hit TV series, matching the strength of the characters and the terrain of their kingdoms. Wine selections include:

  • A rich Red Blend (Paso Robles) representing the Three-Headed Dragon of House Targaryen. Dark black cherry, brambly blackberry, vanilla and cocoa aromas. Soft, juicy black fruit flavors combine in the mouth with hints of leather and spice. Tannins are round and chewy with a rich, juicy mouthfeel that ends with a warm and spicy toasty, vanilla-laced finish.
  • A fine golden Chardonnay (Central Coast) symbolic of the Golden Lion of House Lannister. Enticing aromas of stone fruit and white blossoms lead to a rich, creamy palate of peaches, apricots, tangerine, Meyer lemon, baking spices and honey, balanced by mouth-watering acidity. A touch of oak on the lingering finish.
  • ‚ÄčAn intense Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) expressing the Direwolf of House Stark. A delicious nose of blackcurrant, briar and Tahitian vanilla all interwoven through extended aging in the finest French oak barrels. A long and intensely pleasurable finish on the palate, delivers the caress of smooth tannins with a touch of cocoa.

Acclaimed winemaker Bob Cabral was named Winemaker of the Year in 2011 by Wine Enthusiast magazine and has crafted more than 100 wines scoring 95 points or higher on the 100-point scale. “I’m a huge Game of Thrones fan, and these wines capture the complexity of the drama,” said Cabral “But the wines also have great pedigree.  We source grapes from premier vineyard sites and use the finest winemaking techniques to create wines of incredible richness and texture.”

GoT fans and wine lovers alike can find the limited-release Game of Thrones wines at a local retailer near you.
